Sunrise at Halona Blow Hole and Koko Crater Botanical Garden - October 31, 2020

Started early this morning at 5:00am. Got to Halona Blow Hole and waited for the sunrise. Air was dry and cool. I was the only person there and as it got closer to 6:15am I turned around and there were quite a few locals and tourists behind me. Most of the people were wearing masks.
After the sunrise I decided to walk thru Koko Crater Botanical Garden in search of something different. The air was still dry and cool which made hiking the trail pleasant.  Last Tuesday, Celia and I met an individual who told us about three plumeria trees in the botanical garden that has plumeria flowers with 10 petals, so I went on a scavenger hunt for that flower. Did I find it? You tell me.

The golden hour of the sunrise.

Here it comes.

Getting close!!!
Peeking over the horizon.
HERE COMES THE SUN!!!

The sun is up.

Most plumeria flowers have FIVE PETALS.
This plumeria flower has FOUR PETALS
This plumeria flower has SIX PETALS.
I FOUND IT!!!      This plumeria flower has TEN PETALS

Did you know pumpkins grow on shrubs?
Look just in time for Halloween.
Believe it or not this is a Transvaal Gardenia shrub native to South Africa.
Cluster fig tree.
A red cardinal stopped by to greet me good morning.

WOW SNAKES ALIVE!!!
The flower of a WILD BITTER MELON vine.
The tentacles of the NOBLE ALOE.

Koko Crater Botanical Garden - October 27, 2020

Rain or thunder showers with possible flash flood warning was predicted. As it turned out Derek, Bob, Celia and I were determined to  brave the weather and face Mother Nature head on. While it did not rain at all it was overcast, very humid and dry. Not much by way of blossoming of plumerias and hibiscus. Here's what I did see. ENJOY!!!

Started the morning at Halona Blowhole to catch the golden hour before sunrise at 6:15am.
There she blows...Eh Small Kind.

TWISTED!!! hmmm who's dat.

Saw a Makau, The Hawaiian Fish Hook.
Ya wanna hold my hand?
Ah wee, what's happening to my feet???
The headless creeper. Help me, Help me I lost my head
What am I???
Huggy bear.
He looks all pooped out from the humidity.
Dunno what this is. Maybe some kind of alien.
Call it what you want!!! I'm all pau!!!
