The Beaver Full Moon with the Partial Lunar Eclipse - November 17-2021

The sky was clear and the moon was visible and spectacular.

The Beaver  Full Moon on November 17, 2021

Photographing this eclipse was very challenging. The moon was almost straight up making it difficult for manual focusing.

Thank you Walter for selling me one of your tripod which I used for this photo shoot. It was sturdy enough to handle the Sigma 150-600 mm telephoto lens.

The next lunar eclipse will be a Partial Lunar Eclipse on May 15-16, 2022, at 4:11am which will be visible in Hawaii. Then on November 7-8, 2022 we will  experience a Total Lunar Eclipse visible in Hawaii at 12:59am.

Hamakua Marsh Widlife Sanctuary - November 13, 2021

Met up with Walter, Bob, Natalie and Derek this morning. I was planning on getting at the Marsh before sunrise but missed it. Weather was  overcast with lots of haze possibly due to the vog. When I got there few ducks were in the water with the Alae Ula along the banks with the chickens. Not much BIF action and when they were, it was quick.

I did not have my usual camera today. That being said, I did miss quite a few BIF shots using a backup camera that I purchased second hand. It was great seeing the gang again, as Natalie said "Second time within a week".
